Pet Care / Pet Sitting In-Home Services
Dogs, cats, birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, pot bellied pigs – and more! Feed and water; combing or brushing,
exercise or playtime and TLC, scoop litter box or yard clean-up, pill medications, vitamins and eye drops (no injections).
- Drop in Visits (30-45 minutes)
- Visits can be 1/2/3 times a day
- Vacation/Business travel or Daily service
- Food, water, walk for a dog or playtime for a cat, yard or sand box clean-up
- Cat combing, dog brushing
- Pills, vitamins, eye drops, per instruction; no injections
- Home care, as needed
- Fee based on needs of your pet and travel time to your home (may add for travel time.)
- *Mileage charge of 10%, if more than 15 miles one way
- *Multiple pet households carry additional fees
- Key pick up/return: $5.00

- For Special Needs pets or special situations

Home Care Only, No Pet Sitting
- Bring in the mail, newspapers
- Water plants per your instruction
- Adjust drapes and lights
- Put out the garbage

How it Works

Wagging Tail Pet Sitting begins with a one-hour consultation where Carolynne meets you and your pet family to get acquainted and find out any special needs. She presents all of her credentials, including insurance, bond and a business license. Once the consultation is complete, we confirm pet sit details and the Client rate, which is based on your pet’s needs and travel time to your home. We also complete a Contract and a Veterinary Treatment Authorization to arrange any medical care required in your absence. Finally, we book your Pet Sit to take care of your Furry Friend or Pet Family!
Meet carolynne
Wagging Tail Pet Sitting is a “one-woman shop” with Carolynne Born as the proprietor. A life-long animal lover, she grew up with cats and has had dogs (and some cats, too!) as her “pet family” for many years. Carolynne began Wagging Tail after attending a seminar, “The Pet Sitting University,” in San Diego. She is a proud member of Pet Sitters International, with training in pet first aid, and is insured and bonded. Carolynne is fully qualified to care for your pets of all persuasions and is happy to provide references, so please ask.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does a dog walk service work?
Involves walking your Dog in your neighborhood for 30 minutes. This is your Dog’s most familiar environment.
Some clients may request the Dog Walker to drive to a Dog Park or other location where the Dog may have more access to a larger exercise area. This may best meet the dog’s needs, which works out for both the dog and Dog Walker as the relationship continues to build. There will be a higher fee to the Client to account for the additional time.
What happens during a pet sit visit?
This is our basic Pet Care Service. Full service care includes “TLC” one-on-one care for your pet, based on their needs (determined during the initial consultation). The visit includes loving interaction with your pet, food or snack, walk, exercise or playtime, basic medications (if needed), and any basic home care (mail, lights). The visit is 30-45 minutes. How does the vacation pet sit service work?
We visit with your pet while you are on vacation. We would like a much notice as possible for Vacation Pet Sit bookings, at least a month. This can be on a per-visit basis, such as twice a day, or can be via Overnight or 24/7 care, and is determined following your Consultation. We require detailed information on your pet’s needs, including meals, medications, exercise, personality and disposition, Veterinary contact and your Emergency contact. Exceptions: In some situations, we may be able to go outside of our Service Area, e.g., to San Ramon or Dublin (and the “far reaches” of Blackhawk), on a case by case basis. Please inquire, especially if we have a long lead time for planning. (Mileage charges will apply.)
PLEASE PLAN AHEAD AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE. TWO WEEKS’ NOTICE TO ONE MONTH IS MUCH APPRECIATED.
*In some cases, we may not be able to provide service if yours is a last-minute request, thereby leaving a short window for planning. We like to help out everyone, but may not be able to serve you if you are more than 15 miles away from our home base of Pittsburg.
